Title:  Distancia-Covid project: towards a predictive model of COVID-19

Abstract: The Spanish project "Distancia-Covid" aimed to understand the role of mobility and social contact restrictions on the spread of COVID-19. Here, I present our predictive model focused on Catalonian data. The model takes into account mobility, age-dependent contact rates and number of diagnostic tests and provides predictions for positive cases, hospitalized and critical patients, and deceases. A special focus will be given to the fitting methodology used and the inherent problems of real-world data. "

Background: This is a workgroup meeting in the areas of mathematical modelling, data analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence. Current activities:

  • Parametrisation of epidemiological models, in cooperation with the Covid-19 project.
  • Joint publications starting with epidemiological models based on rule-based systems (reaction kinetics)
  • Implementations are done with RStudio and Jupyter Notebook/Lab, at least initially.

ZOOM Meeting: The meeting is Tuesdays at 18:00 CET (Paris-Berlin-Rome), 5:00 p.m. GMT (London). The Zoom URL is

Meeting-ID: 815 7299 3899
Code: 364883
